Online Data Entry Scams 101

If you have accessed the Internet at least occasionally during the last few years, you have undoubtedly come across many enticing offers which claim to help you make thousands of dollars through simple data entry jobs, which require you to do nothing more than complete a few forms each day. The bait is indeed very enticing: work from home, spend time with your kids, fire your boss, work in your pajamas, earn the magic 6 figure income in no time and so on. The target audiences for these advertisements are usually work-at-home moms and people who are hard up on their luck and desperate enough to believe them.

But most of these data entry jobs are simply scams. These data entry scams have been around for quite a while. They have masqueraded as legitimate data entry work or home typing jobs: their pitch is that there are thousands of companies out there who are looking for people just like you to fill in simple forms for them and that they are willing to pay top dollar for it. Did you ever wonder why companies who hire and pay junior executives and interns to do such jobs for a rather low monthly salary would be willing to pay thousands of dollars for a job which is so seemingly simple?

However, this data entry scam is revealed as soon as you pay up for registration and for training material which is guaranteed to teach you a few simple tricks you can implement in order to earn thousands of dollars in no time. What you usually get in return is this: you can select a network marketing company of your choice, spend your own money advertising it online, this is where you type and receive a commission when the company makes a sale through your effort.

So, if you come across another tempting offer to make thousands from simple data entry, know that it is nothing more than a data entry scam. Are there legitimate opportunities out there? There definitely are, but you need to understand that being careful never hurts.
